This workship is inspired by African mud cloth design and technique. Gloria Grandy is a well-known local doll and fiber artist. Her work was recently exhibited at the Crocker Museum, and is on permanent collection at the Sojourner Truth Museum. Gloria will give a brief overview and history of African much cloth before teaching her special technique for making inspired art panels. Finished art may be hung or displayed as is, or made into pillows, bags, and clothing. All materials will be provided, including heavy canvas, paints, brushes, templates, and instructions. Please bring an apron or old shirt to protect your clothing. Dessert, iced tea, and coffee will be provided. Particpants may also bring their own snacks if desired.
