Sojourner Truth

This little freckle faced baby girl is Tanya. Last month there was a picture on the Internet of three little girls holding a sign that said "we won't change our hair for your schools". When schools opened last month there were a number of stories about little Black children being sent home because of how they were wearing their hair. My little Tanya's tee shirt makes this statement as she wears her hair natural, cornrowed, braided and beaded.

Tanya is only 9 years old but she is intelligent, outspoken, community active and "woke". Her great grandfather marched in Selma with Martin Luther King. Her mom and dad have taught her to stand up for what she believes in. One of her heroes is Angela Davis. Tanya wants to grow up and study law and help her community and maybe, just maybe one day become president. Girls can grow up and lead a country.

This is Maya. She loves animals and has lots of pets. She has two cats, four goldfish, a hamster, a bearded
dragon, a dog and a parakeet. Today, she brought her favorite teddy bear Barack to school for show and tell. She loved telling her class about her dreams of becoming a veterinarian one day and Barack is her favorite practice patient.

She's wearing her favorite dress, tights and shoes and a starfish necklace. Black girls who dream big dreams grow up with big life goals. They can be anything they choose to be.

The little guy has chosen his name and it's Archie. He also has an African name but he'll tell us that later. He's practicing his big speech on his sister,  grandma and mom. They are listening to him intently and are so proud at how this young man is growing up.

These are two happy new Cre8tiv Glory doll parents. These three dolls were on display and available for adoption at Underground Books on Broadway St. In Sacramento California. You can adopt your own Cre8tiv Glory doll. There are more of my little people available at Underground Books.

This IsTanya

This is Tanya. She is one of my Once Upon A Village dolls.
The inspiration for this group of dolls comes from my favorite artist Paul Nzalmaba.
She is a stump doll with a wooden base and stands about 22 inches tall. She wears a summery two piece strapless dress in a navy blue and yellow abstract print and a straw hat with a yellow bow. She is also wearing a blue and white bead necklace, gold bracelets and long curly hair.

She is also a positive image doll to promote the beauty of African American people. She is available for adoption for $95.00 plus tax and shipping to your address. Email me your interest at cre8tivglory@gmail.com
